Setting up a Lock Screen PIN
Once you’re created a SMART Account and signed in, the first time you open the Lock screen you’ll be prompted to set up a lock screen PIN associated with the account. This lock screen will block unauthorized use of the display.
If the display supports the use of a SMART ID card, you can use the card to lock the screen.
To set up a Lock Screen PIN
On the display panel, tap the unlocked Lock button on the Home screen.
Type a PIN to use to unlock the screen from now on. Make a note of this PIN.
Going forward, anyone not signed in to a SMART Account who opens the Lock screen will be prompted to create a PIN. They will need to enter this PIN whenever they open the Lock screen, similar to a hotel room lock box.
To view the Lock status
When the screen shows a closed lock icon, the screen is locked. The screen can only be accessed by typing the PIN.
When the small lock icon in the bottom left corner of the screen is open, the screen is accessible.
To reset the PIN
Turn the display off and then on again.
If you are not signed in to the display, you will be prompted to set up a lock screen PIN.
OR
If you are signed in, tap your profile button at the top left the screen and select Edit account > Reset Lock PIN. Enter a new PIN, and then enter it again to confirm.
Sign in to your SMART Account and then hold your SMART ID card to the scan area on the frame or the screen (depending on your display) to lock it. To unlock, hold your card to the scan area again.
Note
If you attempt to unlock the screen using a SMART ID card that is different to the one used to lock the screen, you’ll be prompted to enter the lock screen PIN (see the procedure at the top of this page).
