Session Management

Unlimited connections

When this setting is turned on, there’s no limit on the number of participants that can connect to the session.

Devices must use the SMART Mirror client app to connect to the session. AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast receivers will be disabled.

Moderator mode is required for this setting. When you enable unlimited connections, moderator mode is automatically turned on.

The local connections only setting is disabled when you turn on unlimited connections.

This setting cannot be used if the Remote Control setting is enabled.

Moderator mode

Turn on Moderator mode to control who presents. When this setting is enabled, people who have connected devices must be invited to share their screen from the display. This helps prevent people from taking over screen sharing before you want them to.

To use the Sign in as a teacher option when connecting to a display, moderator mode must be enabled.

Turning on this setting disables the following other settings:

  • Floating ID

  • Broadcast to participants

  • Broadcast to other displays

Extended Grid

By default, up to 4 participants can share their screen at once. You can enable the extended grid to have up to 9 participants share their screens at the same time.

This setting requires Moderator mode to be enabled.

If more than 4 screens are being shared simultaneously, performance may be impacted.

This setting is only available for displays with iQ 4.

Floating ID

Choose to turn on the floating session ID window to help people easily find the session information for connecting their devices.

Devices must use the SMART Mirror client app to connect to the session. AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast receivers will be disabled.

This setting cannot be used if Moderator mode is enabled.

Whiteboard

Choose whether or not to have SMART Mirror’s whiteboard accessible from the app’s home screen. If enabled, the whiteboard icon will appear above the Shared Items icon in the left toolbar.
