Sharing from an Apple device
If you have an Apple device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook, you can share to the display using one of the following connection methods:

Important
To avoid experiencing issues while using screen sharing, make sure the network is properly configured.
From the display’s Home screen, tap Screen Share.

Follow the instructions for your device to use AirPlay. See Apple Support.
Important
If your device is connected to a different network than the display, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both the device and the display before trying to connect. Otherwise, the device must be on the same network as the display to connect. Learn more about troubleshooting BLE discovery using AirPlay and SMART Mirror.

Select the display’s name. The name of the display is shown either in the screen's upper right corner or on the left side.
If permissions are enabled, someone at the display needs to allow the device to share before the device appears in the lobby or can share its screen.
The Screen Mirror app is an alternate method of sharing your device’s screen, and it might be useful when the network doesn’t support AirPlay. The SMART Mirror app also includes several tools that aid in presenting and collaborating.
Note
To use this app, the display must have SMART Mirror. Learn how to tell if your display has SMART Mirror.
To share your Apple device’s screen on the display using the SMART Mirror app
Download the SMART Mirror app for your device.
From the display’s Home screen, tap Screen Share.
The home screen for sharing opens, showing you the information you’ll need to connect.
Open the SMART Mirror app on your device.
(Mac computers only) To enable touchback, click Settings in the bottom left corner and select the Touchback control option.
Type the session ID in the SMART Mirror home screen.
The SMART Mirror home screen displays a 6- or 10-digit session ID. The number of digits indicates whether your device needs to be on the same network as the display:
6 digits: SMART Mirror is connected to the internet, allowing a connection across any network. When connecting using a 6-digit session ID, you can connect from anywhere. You do not need to be on the same network as the display.
10 digits: SMART Mirror allows local connections only. To connect using a 10-digit session ID, your device must be on the same network as the display.
Tip
You can change this setting on the display.
Enter your name.
Tap or click Connect.
This table describes what you can do after your device has connected to the display:

Choose a video from your device and share it to the display.
Tap Present.
Tap Present a video.
Select a video on your device.
The app begins compressing the video.
Tap Present video.
You can use the controls on the device or the display to play the video.

Upload a file, photo, video, or link to share
Add a file such as a PDF, image, video, or link from your device.
Shared videos and links can be opened on the display. Others who've connected their devices to the display using SMART Mirror can open any shared files and download them to their devices.
After a session ends, all shared files are be removed.
At the bottom of the screen, tap Shared items.
Tap Add items.
Choose the item type you want to upload.
The file is added to the session's shared files.
Click Shared items.
Click Add items.
Choose the item type and select the file.
The file is added to the session's shared files for the session.
Stop sharing
Stop sharing your device’s screen.
Open the SMART Mirror app.
Tap .
Click Stop Broadcasting.
Your screen is no longer shared, and you’re returned to the SMART Mirror home screen.
Open the SMART Mirror app menu.
Select Quit SMART Mirror App.
Click Exit session.
Your screen is no longer shared, and the SMART Mirror app closes.
The SMART Screen Share app is an alternate method of sharing your device’s screen, and it might be useful when the network doesn’t support AirPlay.

To share your iOS mobile device’s screen on the display
Download the SMART Mirror app from the Apple App Store.
From the display’s Home screen, tap Screen Share.
The home screen for sharing opens, showing you the information you’ll need to connect.
Open the SMART Screen Share app on your device.
Enter the display’s IP address on your device.
OR
Tap and scan the QR code on the display with your device.
Tap Connect.
Tap to begin sharing your device’s screen.
From the list of apps that appear, tap SMART Screen Share.
Tap Start Broadcast.
If permissions are enabled, someone at the display needs to allow the device to share before the device appears in the lobby or can share its screen.
Mute your device to prevent audio from both your device and the display.
To share your Mac computer’s screen on the display
On your computer, download and install the SMART Screen Share client app from the SMART support site.
Note
macOS Sonoma 14 or later is not supported.
Open the app and install the audio driver for SMART Screen Share app when prompted. The app also requires certain permissions to enable all features. See the download page for details.
From the display’s Home screen, tap Screen Share.

Return to the SMART Screen Share app on your computer.
Enter the display’s IP address.
Click Connect.
If the display supports touch interactions, the message “SMART board has requested to enable touchback” appears on the computer. Click Accept to control the computer from the display.
Select a display or program to share.
Click Start Sharing.
If permissions are enabled, someone at the display needs to allow the device to share before the device appears in the lobby or can share its screen.
Note
You can use touchback to interact with the computer’s shared screen from the SMART Board display. If touchback is enabled, you can’t write or draw on the screen using the display’s pens. To disable touchback in the SMART Screen Share app on your computer, click .
