Install apps

You can add an app from the Google Play store, including conferencing, educational, and productivity apps. IT administrators, technical specialists, or those in charge of deploying and managing apps within an organization or school can use SMART Remote Management to deploy third-party apps to a SMART Board interactive display with iQ 4.

To install an app from Google Play

Notes

  • The display must be signed in to a Google account before you can install an app from Google Play.

  • If your administrator has disabled the app store, you will need to reach out to them for assistance with installing and managing apps on the display. Organizations can also use Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platforms to create a “Managed Play Store”, which means the available apps in the store will be limited to what the organization’s administrators have curated.

  1. Ensure you’re signed in to your SMART account (recommended).

  2. From the home screen, tap Apps.

  3. Tap Play Store.

    Note

You must sign in to your Google account to access the Play store.

  4. Search for the app you want to install.

  5. Tap Install. You may have to give the app store permission to install the app.

The app installs on the display.

To configure apps settings

You can administer how apps are used on the display, including assigning default apps, disabling apps, and setting limits on app usage. Manage access to apps by going to Settings Apps.
