Assigning asynchronous lessons
You can assign asynchronous lessons using a link, and students can access the lessons on their devices. If they don’t have access to a device, or you’d prefer to provide a printed copy of the lesson, you can export the lesson to a PDF.
When you share a link to your lesson with students, they can open the lesson at any time and work on it at their own pace. This can be useful when you’re sharing multiple lessons to different students for them to work on asynchronously, or when you’re assigning work to complete outside of class time.
Students enter their school account credentials to access the lesson.
Using the access link doesn’t connect students to a live lesson. The link just gives them access to the lesson to work on asynchronously. If you start delivering the lesson live while they have it open, they won’t be included unless they join the class using your class ID.
To generate a student access link
From the My Library tab, find the lesson you want to share.
Click Assign to generate an access link for students.
A dialog opens and displays the options for generating an access link to the lesson.
Tip
You can also get an access link in Delivery mode by clicking to open the menu and selecting Share.
Click Copy to copy the link to the clipboard.
Share the copied link with students. You can paste the link into an email or add it to an assignment.
Anyone who has the link can sign in to Lumio and access the lesson. The link will remain the same until you remove access to the lesson.
If you want to remove access to the lesson, click Stop sharing below the link to disable it.
Note
Teacher-led activities, such as quizzes, assessments, and Shout It Out! activities don't support asynchronous use.
Lesson links are active right away. Anyone who has the link can sign in to Lumio to access the lesson.
If you want to remove access to the lesson, reopen the Share link dialog and click Stop sharing.
Note
When you stop sharing a link, it’s disabled permanently. To share a lesson again after you’ve stopped sharing, generate a new link.
