Helping users reset their display PINs
If a user who is signed into a SMART Board interactive display with iQ has forgotten their PIN and can’t unlock the display as a result, you can remove the user’s account from the display using SMART Remote Management. The user can then sign into the display again and enter a new PIN.
Important
This procedure does not apply to owners/public users.
To remove the account of a user who has forgotten their PIN (if only one user has signed into the display with their SMART Account)
If the user is currently signed in to the SMART Board interactive display with iQ and the display is locked, restart the display following the instructions in its documentation.
Click Devices
to open the Devices view.
OptionalFilter the devices shown in the Devices view.
SeeFinding devices
Click the device’s row.
The device’s dashboard window appears.
Click Manage, and then click Manage Users.
The Manage users dialog appears.
Click Remove user and type the user’s UUID in the User name box.
Note
The user’s UUID is a unique identifier for the user and is used to identify the user account in the system, allowing for effective management actions such as removing the account.
Click Confirm.
To remove the account of a user who has forgotten their PIN (if more than one user has signed into the display with their SMART Account)
If the user is currently signed in to the SMART Board interactive display with iQ and the display is locked, restart the display following the instructions in its documentation.
Have the user sign into the display with their SMART Account.

The user’s UUID is a unique identifier for the user and is used to identify the user account in the system, allowing for effective management actions such as removing the account.

Click the device’s row.
The device’s dashboard window appears.
In the general details section on the dashboard’s left side, scroll until you see the Users section, which displays the UUID for the currently signed-in user.
Note
The user’s UUID is a unique identifier for the user and is used to identify the user account in the system, allowing for effective management actions such as removing the account.
Note the UUID of the currently signed-in user, which is highlighted in the Users section.
Have the user sign out of the display.
Note
You can’t remove the user account from the display while the user is signed in.
Click Manage, and then click Manage Users.
The Manage users dialog appears.
Click Remove user and type the user’s UUID in the User name box.
Click Confirm.
