Lock and unlock GX displays

If a device is lost or stolen, you can lock it from SMART Remote Management to secure it, provided the device still has wireless connectivity.

You can lock and unlock devices as described below. Alternatively, you can lock devices at a scheduled time or when a specific event takes place.

Note 

You can’t unlock devices at a scheduled time or when a specific event takes place. This is because a user must be present with the device to unlock it.

To lock and unlock devices

  1. Click Devices to open the Devices view.

  2. Click the device’s row.

    The device’s dashboard window appears.

  3. Click Lock, and then click Lock device or Unlock device.

  4. Click Confirm.

To retrieve the password from a locked device

  1. Click Devices to open the Devices view.

  2. Click the device’s row.

    The device’s dashboard window appears.

  3. Click Lock, and then click Get lock Password.

  4. Click Press to Retrieve Password.
