Using the Report menu in SMART Diagnostics
The Report menu in SMART Diagnostics has two options to create and view HTML report files that summarize the hardware and software characteristics of the computer and all attached SMART products: Local and SMART Usage Monitor. You can also create a text log file to track usage of your SMART product.
You have three options to view, save and send report files using SMART Diagnostics and your Internet browser. Report files summarize the hardware and software characteristics of the computer and the connected SMART products.
Tip
You can also click to generate the report.
To view a local report
Select Report > Local > View.
A report file opens in your Internet browser.
To save a local report
Select Report > Local > Save As.
The Save As dialog box appears.
Browse to where you want to save the new file.
Optionally, type a new name for the file in the File name box (Windows operating systems) or Save As box (OS X operating system software).
Note
The default file name for the report is
ReportLog.html
, but you can change the file name and the destination folder. If a report file of the same name exists in the destination folder, a prompt asks if you want to overwrite the file.Click Save.
Double-click the saved file to open and view it in your Internet browser.
To send a local report
Select Report > Local > Send.
This generates a report file called
ReportLog.html
and attaches it, along with the log file, to an e-mail message. You can change the default destination address of support@smarttech.com as required.
Note
The View and Send options generate a new ReportLog.html
file in the default folder each time they are selected, automatically overwriting the previous file. Select the Save As option if you want to rename the file.
Windows operating systems only
In Windows, the SMART Usage Monitor tracks how long the SMART Board service has been running, how long an interactive product has been connected and how much it has been used.
To set up the SMART usage monitor
Select Report > SMART Usage Monitor.
The SMART Usage Monitor dialog box appears.
Select the Enable SMART Board Usage Monitor option.
The File Name text box and buttons become available.
Change the default
SBUsage.txt
file name and folder, if required, and then click OK.You can return to this dialog box to view or clear the log.
