Presenting lessons online

When you have completed your lessons and are ready to deliver them to students, you have a few different options for how you deliver them:

Desktop

SMART Notebook

Use SMART Notebook desktop software to present. In this method, your lesson SMART Notebook lesson file is opened on a computer connected to the SMART Board interactive display.

Online

SMART Learning Suite Online

Sign in to SMART Learning Suite Online (SLS Online) using your SMART account credentials to import your SMART Notebook lessons to your lesson library deliver the lesson online.

Some key advantages of using SLS Online to deliver your lesson includes:

  • the ability to have students connect to the lesson from their own devices, facilitating individual and collaborative interaction with the lesson

  • the ability to deliver the lesson on any device with a browser, such as Chromebooks. You are not limited to either Windows or Mac operating systems as you would be with the desktop method of delivery listed previously.

To deliver lessons online

  1. Save your SMART Notebook lesson on your computer.

  2. Open a browser and sign in to SLS Online. See Signing in to your SMART account.

  3. Import the SMART Notebook lesson to SLS Online. See Adding lessons in SMART Learning Suite Online.

  4. In your lesson library, open the lesson you want to deliver. See Starting and ending lessons in SMART Learning Suite Online

  5. Use SLS Online to deliver the lesson and have students connect to the lesson (if using their own devices will be required). See The Delivery mode interface in SLS Online and Helping students join a class.
