Importing files
Import PowerPoint files and Interactive Whiteboard Common File Format (CFF) files into SMART Notebook 18 using SMART Notebook’s Import function. Use the SMART Notebook print drivers to convert other file formats, such as Adobe PDFs, and open them in SMART Notebook.
Note
Currently only importing a CFF file into SMART Notebook is supported on Mac operating systems.
To import a PowerPoint file (Windows)
Windows operating systems only
Select File > Import.
The Open dialog box appears.
Select All PowerPoint Files (*.ppt;*.pptx) in the Files of type drop-down list.
Browse to and select the PowerPoint file you want to import.
Tap Open.
SMART Notebook software adds the contents of the PowerPoint file to a .notebook file.
To import a CFF file
Select File > Import.
The Open dialog box appears.
Select All Common File Format Files (*.iwb) in the Files of type drop-down list.
Select File > Import > All Common File Format Files (.IWB).
A dialog box appears.
Browse to and select the file you want to import.
Tap Open.
The file opens.
To convert a document to a SMART Notebook file (Windows)
Windows operating systems only
Open the document you want to convert in its application. For example, if you want to convert an Adobe PDF file to a Notebook file, open the file in the Adobe PDF application.
From the application’s main menu, select File > Print.
The application’s Print dialog box opens.
From the Printer: drop down menu, select Send to SMART Notebook.
Select Print.
The document opens in SMART Notebook.
View, print, or annotate in the SMART Notebook file.
From SMART Notebook’s main menu, select File > Save to save the Notebook file.
