Updating the e³ experience
The display checks for e³ experience system software updates automatically, provided the display’s date and time are set correctly (see Date and time) and the display is connected to the internet. The display notifies you when an e³ experience system software update is available.
Tap Update to update the e³ experience system software.
Tap Ignore to skip that specific e³ experience system software. The display won’t apply that update ever if you check for updates manually.
Tap Cancel to update the e³ experience system software at a later time.
The display applies the e³ experience system software update automatically if no options are selected after a short time
When the update is installing, touch, the front control panel and remote control will not respond.
To apply a system software update
A dialog box appears on the screen asking if you want to update the e³ experience system software.
Tap Update to update the e³ experience system software.
OR
Tap Cancel to update the e³ experience system software later.
To apply a system software update from Settings
On the display, tap the Home button on the screen to open the launcher.
Tap Settings.
Tap Update.
Under Update, tap Update.
You can download system software updates at smarttech.com/downloads and update your display using a USB drive.
Note
This will erase all content on your display. Use a USB drive to copy any files you want to keep.
Go to smarttech.com/downloads and download the update file for your size of display.
Copy the .zip file to a USB drive.
Insert the USB drive into the display USB.
Press Menu on the front control panel to open the e³ experience system software settings.
Tap Update.
Tap Check.
A dialog box appears.
Tap USB.
The upgrading software screen appears.
If the update includes an upgrade to the touch firmware, don’t touch the screen during an update.
Using the switch on the back of the display, turn off the display.
Wait 10 seconds.
Using the switch on the back of the display, turn on the display.
