Sharing from a browser
Use a browser to share your browser tab or the whole screen to the SMART Board display. Sharing from a browser is supported for web-based, Chromebook, Windows, macOS devices.
Important
To avoid experiencing issues while using screen sharing, make sure the network is properly configured.
Share to a display using Google Cast
You can use a Chrome or Edge browser and Google Cast (a browser extension for Chrome) to share the desktop or a specific browser tab from your Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS computer.
Note
Before you begin, make sure the device is connected to the same network as the display.
To share to a display using a Chrome browser
Open SMART Mirror
on the display.
The home screen for sharing opens, showing you the information you’ll need to connect.
Note
If using an iQ 3 display, the button will appear as Screen Share
.
On your computer, open the Chrome browser.
Note
For displays with SMART Mirror, make sure the computer is using Chrome version 72 or later. For displays with SMART Screen Share, the computer must be running Chrome version 72-119.
Open the tab you want to share.
In the top right corner of your browser, click
.
Click Cast.
A window opens with options for sharing.
Click Sources.
To share the current tab in Chrome, select Cast tab.
OR
To share the entire screen, select Cast desktop.
Select the display’s name.
When you’ve finished sharing, click Stop.

To share to a display using an Edge browser
Open SMART Mirror
on the display.
The home screen for sharing opens, showing you the information you’ll need to connect.

On your computer, open the Edge browser.
Open the tab you want to share to the display.
In the top right corner of your browser, click
.
Select More tools
Cast media to device.
A window opens with a list of available devices and options for sharing.
Click Sources.
To share the current tab, select Cast tab.
OR
To share the entire screen, select Cast desktop.
Select the display’s name.
If permissions are enabled, someone at the display needs to allow the device to share before the device appears in the lobby or can share its screen.
When you’ve finished sharing, click Stop.
