Interacting with lessons as a student in SMART Learning Suite Online
Learn how to interact with lessons in SMART Learning Suite Online.
If you’re completing a Handout or Workspace activity see Working on Handout and Workspace activities.
After you have joined a class, the lesson that your teacher is delivering appears on your device and you can complete activities and participate in games, workspaces, and assessments.
The student view contains a command bar and page area.
Your command bar includes the following controls:
The leave class button appears on all pages.
Use the Leave class button to leave a class and return to the SMART Learning Suite Online student homepage. After you’ve left a class you must re-join the class to participate in the lesson.
The pen tools appear on activity pages that feature graphics, text, tables, lines, shapes, or animations.
Use the Select tool to select objects and manipulate them by rotating, stretching, and moving them.
Use the Pen tool to create freehand objects using different line widths and ink colors.
Use the Eraser tool to erase the digital ink.
Additional controls appear when you are contributing to a Workspace activity.
The reset button appears on activity pages.
Use the Reset button to reset an activity to its original state.
Page navigation controls
The page navigation controls appear when Student pacing is on.
Use the page navigation controls to display the next or previous page in a lesson.
Tap the page sorter icon in the center to open and close an additional navigation panel containing thumbnails of lesson pages.
If your teacher starts a collaborative activity or assessment, page navigation controls will be replaced by the activity’s controls.
To write or draw with digital ink
On an activity page, select the Pen tool to open the Ink menu.
Select a color from the menu, or add a custom color by selecting More colors and selecting from the color wheel.
Use your finger or a pen to draw on the page.
To erase digital ink
Select the Eraser tool, and then choose an eraser size.
- Move the eraser over digital ink to erase.
