In the upcoming release of SMART Notebook 22 software, the subscription-based features have been renamed “SMART Notebook Plus.” This change more accurately reflects the enhanced features included with a subscription, such as tool add-ons and access to web-based software features.

Administrators: A new subscription is not required, and the renewal process for your SMART Learning Suite subscription stays the same. Users will access SMART Notebook Plus by signing in to their SMART Account using a provisioned email address or by activating their software with a product key just like they do now.

Teachers: Nothing will change in SMART Notebook. You will still have access to the subscription-based features (now SMART Notebook Plus) as long as you have an active subscription.

Installing SMART Notebook basic version

Start the installation by downloading the software from the SMART website.

To download and install SMART Notebook

Go to smarttech.com/products/education-software/notebook/download/basic
Select the operating system.
Click download and save the file to a temporary location
Double-click the downloaded installer file to start the installation wizard.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Tip
When installing on Windows operating systems, you can set SMART Notebook basic version to run as the default program. On the final installation screen, select the Use Notebook basic version by default check box. This will prevent SMART Notebook from asking for activation when the program is opened and will prevent notifications asking to upgrade from appearing.
