Use this troubleshooting wizard to troubleshoot the use of a native screen sharing method, such as AirPlay, Google Cast, or Miracast, to share to a SMART Board interactive display.

Display refers to the SMART Board interactive display or SMART Board display.

Device refers to the iOS device, Android device, or Windows computer that is sharing its screen.

Browser

Open the Browser app on the display and try navigating to a website to see if the display can connect to the internet. Does the page load?

Check the settings in the display’s screen sharing app and ensure the proper settings are enabled for the connection method you're using.

Try sharing your screen again. If the issue persists, click Continue.

To enable screen share settings

  1. On the display, tap Settings.

  2. Navigate to Application settingsScreen Share.

  3. Enable the settings for the method you are using:

    • AirPlay

    • Google Cast

    • Miracast

  4. (For SMART Screen Share only) If using Miracast, enable the Auto-disconnect from WiFi for Miracast option.

Open the Screen Share app on the display. The app must be open before you can connect.

Try sharing your screen again. If the issue persists, click Continue.

The browser does not have an internet connection

Connect the display to a network with an Ethernet cable or using Wi-Fi. Use the Browser app again to confirm that the display has a working internet connection. If there is still no internet connection, there may be an issue with the network. Contact your organization’s network administrator for assistance.

If the display does have internet connection, try sharing your screen again.

If the issue persists, click Continue.

To connect to a Wi-Fi network

  1. If an Ethernet cable is connected to the display or iQ appliance, disconnect it.

  2. From the Home screen, tap Settings.

  3. Tap Wi-Fi.

    Note 

    Ensure Wi-Fi is turned On.

  4. Select a wireless network.

    If the Wi-Fi network is not password protected, the display connects to the network.

  5. If the network requires a password, enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.

    OR

    If the network requires a username and password, enter the username and Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.

    Tip 

    Use the crosshairs to move the on-screen keyboard.

To connect to an Ethernet network

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 jack on the display.

Have you updated the operating systems, drivers, and/or associated apps on your devices? Check for and install any updates on your device and the display.

Try sharing your scree again. If the issue persists, click Continue.

On your device, turn on Airplane mode for 30 seconds. Turn Airplane mode off, wait 15 seconds, and then reconnect. Is the issue resolved?

There may be too many devices connected to the network or another issue with the network. If the issue occurs again, contact the network’s admin.

Click Continue to try the next troubleshooting step.

On your device, turn Wi-Fi on and then off again. Is the issue resolved?

On the display, reset the Screen Share app.

For displays with SMART Mirror, reset the app by tapping New Session.

For displays with SMART Screen Share, tap Reset Screen Share.

Try sharing your screen again. Is the issue resolved?

If possible, change the resolution on your device.

The resolution of the shared device’s screen might exceed 1920 × 1080. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for your device to learn how to change the resolution.

Connect your device and the display to a mobile hotspot.
