Working with objects in a whiteboard or lesson file

Select an object, such as an image, text, or ink that you added to the page. After you've selected an object, a selection rectangle appears around it and there are a number of ways you can manipulate it.

The drop-down menu provides you with basic options such as cutting, copying, duplicating, and deleting the object, but it also provides the following options for manipulating objects on the page:

  • Infinite cloning

  • Locking

  • Flipping horizontal and vertical

  • Adjusting order (send to back/bring to front)

Additionally, some objects, such as shapes, lines, and text include a line properties menu which you can use to adjust the following object properties:

  • Color

  • Line thickness

  • Arrows

  • Line type

Press and hold the object, and then select the properties to change.

The line properties menu remains active until you clear it by selecting the Marquee tool in theThe whiteboard toolbar.

To select an object

  1. Tap an object to select it.

    OR

    Tap Marquee to draw a box and select multiple objects.

To move an object

  1. Move an object by selecting it and dragging it.

To rotate or resize an object

  1. Drag the object’s rotation or resize handle.

    When an object is selected, there is a rotation handle at the top, a blue drop down button to the side, and a resize handle on the bottom right corner.

    Tip 

    You can use a gesture to resize the object. Drag your fingers away from each other to make the object larger and towards each other to make it smaller

To resize an object using a gesture

  1. Tap the object to select it.

  2. Drag your fingers away from each other to make the object larger.

    OR

    Drag your fingers toward each other to make the object smaller.

    Note 

    Make sure your fingers are both within the object when you begin the gesture.

To flip an object horizontally or vertically

  1. Tap MenuFlip Left/Right to flip the object vertically or select Flip Up/Down to flip the object horizontally.

To duplicate an object

  1. Tap MenuDuplicate.

    You can duplicate the object as many times as you like.

  1. Use the Marquee tool to draw a box around the objects.

  2. Tap MenuGroup.

    You can now move, rotate, and resize the grouped objects as you would any other object.

  3. To ungroup the items, tap MenuUngroup.

  1. Tap the object to select it.

  2. TapMenuDelete.

    The object is deleted. To restore an object you just deleted, tap Undo.

  1. Tap MenuInfinite Cloner.

    Now you can tap and drag the original object to create a clone of it. Continue tapping and dragging to create as many copies of the original object as you need.

  1. Tap Menu and then tap Bring to front or Send to back.

  1. Tap MenuLock.

    The object is locked in place and can’t be moved or altered.

  2. To unlock an object, tap MenuUnlock.
