Installing and managing apps

You can add an app from the app store, including conferencing, educational, and productivity apps.

Note 

The apps available depend on which display you're using. Any apps not compatible with your display will be unavailable in the app store.

After you've installed an app, you can access it from the Apps library or pin it to Favorites for quick access.

To install an app from the App Store

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.

  2. Tap App Store.

  3. Tap to select an app or tap More to see additional apps.

  4. Tap Install. You may have to give the app store permission to install the app.

    The app installs on the display.

To use SMART Remote Management to deploy third-party apps

  1. IT administrators, technical specialists, or those in charge of deploying and managing apps within an organization or school can use SMART Remote Management to deploy third-party apps to a SMART Board interactive display with iQ. For more information, see the following resources on the SMART Remote Management support page:

    SMART Remote Management requires a subscription.

You can also tap the Clean Up button to close all apps. See Navigating the display’s interface.

  1. Go to the Home screen.

  2. Find the tile you want to remove from the Recent category.

    Tip 

    You can also tap to show more recent apps.

  3. Tap and hold the tile until the background becomes black.

  4. On the tile, tap in the upper right corner.

    If you removed an app, the app is closed.

Use one of the following methods to add apps:

  • Using the search feature in the apps library

  • Using a URL to create a bookmark to a website

  • Using SMART Remote Management

Once added, you can access the apps from the Apps library or pin them to Favorites for quick access.

To add a new app using search

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.

  2. Tap Add New.

  3. Type a search term.

  4. In the search results, tapAdd App on the app you want to add to the Apps Library.

    The app will take a moment to download and install.

To add a new app from a URL

  1. Using the Browser app, visit a website, such as youtube.com.

  2. Return to the Home screen.

    A tile appears

  3. Under the Recent category, locate the tile for the website you just visited.

  4. Pin the website's tile to Favorites and the tile will appear in the Apps Library.

To edit an app's name or URL

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.

  2. Tap and hold the tile until the background becomes black.

  3. Tap Edit.

  4. Use the on-screen keyboard to update the app name or URL.

  5. Tap Done.
