Windows: 26.0.1137.1

macOS: 26.0.440.1

  • Windows

    • Resolved issues

      • Resolved an issue where the SMART Notebook toolbar could become unresponsive.

      • Resolved an issue where lesson activity thumbnails did not appear in the page sorter when the activity was on a page other than the first page of the file.

      • Resolved an issue where SMART Notebook stopped responding when reconnecting a SMART Board via USB.

      • Resolved an issue where SMART Notebook closed unexpectedly when using Recognize Handwriting on ink that could not be converted to text.

      • Resolved an issue where handwritten ink containing subscripts or superscripts was not recognized as math when using the Recognize as Math option.

      • Improved stability when SMART Notebook encounters errors during initialization.

      • Ink-to-math is now available through a dedicated Recognize as Math command in the context menu. Recognized equations can be sent directly to the equation editor for further editing. Some expressions, such as matrices, may not be supported by the equation editor. Math recognition now requires an internet connection.

    • Known incompatibilities

      • Installing drivers for SMART Document Cameras 450, 330, and 280 causes an issue with current Windows security settings. To address this, these drivers are no longer installed by default and must be selected during installation so that only those who have these document cameras need to install the drivers that support them in Notebook.

  • macOS

    • Resolved issues

      • Resolved an issue where the Notebook toolbar may disappear when Notebook is opened on a secondary display.

      • Ink-to-math is now available through a dedicated Recognize as Math command in the context menu. Recognized equations can be sent directly to the equation editor for further editing. Some expressions, such as matrices, may not be supported by the equation editor. Math recognition now requires an internet connection.

    • Known issues

      • Selecting an option on a submenu of the Mac menu bar may dismiss the menu instead of selecting the submenu item. As a workaround, drag your finger through the menu rather than tapping, then press and hold the submenu item you want to select. SMART is working with Apple to resolve this.

      • Handwriting recognition now requires an internet connection.
