Increasing the display’s storage capacity

You can use a microSD card to increase the display’s internal storage capacity. The microSD card’s storage is combined with the display’s internal storage so you can save additional files, media, and apps on the display.

SMART recommends a name brand microSD card with the following specifications:

  • SDHC or SDXC flash memory

  • Up to 80 MBps transfer speed

  • U1 or higher UHS speed class

  • C10 or higher video speed class

  • Single partition

To increase the display’s storage capacity

  1. Remove the security cover over the display’s microSD card slot (located on the side connector panel).

  2. Insert an unformatted microSD card in the slot.

The display detects the inserted microSD card, formats it automatically, and makes it available as part of the display’s internal storage capacity.

  3. Verify that the microSD card was added successfully by reviewing the available internal storage in settings. The internal storage should include the amount from the microSD card.

    Example

128 GB (64 GB internal + 64 GB microSD card)

  4. Keep the microSD card inserted in the slot and replace the security cover.

    Important

If the SD card is removed, the display might not turn on or data might be lost, including files and apps. To recover, reinsert the SD card or perform a factory reset.
