Download the WIM file from this page, and then save it to a USB drive.
Connect the USB drive to one of the three USB receptacles on the appliance behind the right side of your SMART Board interactive flat panel.
Don’t use the single USB receptacle on the left side of your interactive flat panel.
Select System > Settings on the SMART Business toolbar.
The logon screen appears.
Type your administrator password, and then tap Log On.
The Configuration Setting menu appears.
Tap the Administration tab, and then select the Firmware Update tool.
Browse to and select the WIM file on the USB drive.
Tap Open, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
This BIOS update resolves the issue that causes a black screen to appear on interactive flat panels when the appliance is turning on. This issue typically occurs if there’s a loss of power or if the appliance control panel’s power button was used to turn off your interactive flat panel while a laptop was the active input.
To format the USB drive
Connect an empty USB drive to a computer with a Windows XP operating system or newer.
In Windows Explorer, right-click the USB drive, and then select Format.
Under File System, select FAT32.
Click Start.
The USB drive formats.
Download the BIOS file in this section and save it to your USB drive.
To update the BIOS
Connect the USB drive and a keyboard to the appliance.
Important
If the appliance is not connected to an interactive flat panel, connect a monitor and a power cable to the appliance.
Turn on the appliance.
Press F2.
The main menu appears on the DOS screen.
Select Tools > ASUS EZ Flash 2.
The Start ASUS EZ Flash 2 Utility? dialog box appears.
Click OK.
Select the BIOS file you downloaded from the SMART website and press ENTER.
The software runs a file check.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the BIOS update procedure.
Once the BIOS update is complete, the appliance restarts.
Remove the USB drive.
Turn off the appliance and disconnect any cables you connected in step 1.
