To install this version

  1. On your computer, download the BIN file and save it to your computer's desktop.

  2. Copy the BIN file to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive.

    Note 

    The USB drive must accommodate at least 2 GB, and be no larger than 32 GB.

  3. Ensure the interactive display is turned on.

  4. Connect the USB drive to the interactive display's service port. See the installation and maintenance guide for the location of your display's service port.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, tap OK.

    Note 

    If no dialog box appeared, the update file is not the most recent version, or the interactive display already has the latest system software.

    Caution 

    Do not disconnect the USB drive or turn the display off until the installation is complete.

The installation will take several minutes. The screen will turn black, and the display will restart several times. When the installation is complete, the display restarts.

Notes 

  • If the iQ system software doesn't install, restart the display and try to install the system software again. If you still encounter issues while installing the software, visit this troubleshooting page for solutions.

  • This software includes open source code and those licenses are viewable within your device by navigating to Settings, or by clicking here.

The Android Screen Recorder is available within the notification panel to record content within iQ and other Android apps. You can find video recordings in the Files app under Videos.

  • Updated to SMART Mirror 4.35.3. With SMART Mirror’s new broadcast feature, you can share what's on the screen of your iQ-enabled display to:

    • Session participants to view on their devices (useful for viewers who need a closer look).

    • Other SMART displays in your environment.

      • Notes 

      • Broadcast to participants requires an internet connection. It cannot be used with an extended grid or when in local only mode.

      • Broadcast to displays cannot be used with extended grid or unlimited connections.

SMART Whiteboard

  • Whiteboard no longer crashes when the display is connected, but not authenticated, to a network with a captive portal.

  • Changes to Measurement tools within Lumio files created on a display running iQ 4 are shown when the same Whiteboard file is reopened on a display running iQ 3.

  • The relative spacing between annotations is now maintained when moving multiple annotations to the edge of the canvas.

  • A file opened from a USB key closes after the USB key is removed.

  • Users can now select a video annotation on the Whiteboard by long pressing on the video annotation.

  • Teachers can select the context menu for annotations that students in Lumio duplicated.

Browser

The Google Slides websites can go into slideshow mode. (MX-V2, 6000S, and 7000-V2 displays only).

Known issues

System software

  • Signing into the display repeatedly and in quick succession may fail as the system’s security components may consider this suspicious behavior. Restart the display to try signing in again.

Embedded apps

SMART Remote Management

  • RemoteExec cannot execute the adb command settings put. Use smartcli settings put as an alternative.

Browser

YouTube videos embedded in Google Slides will not play in full screen due to a limitation with the display’s hardware video playback capabilities. For the optimal experience, play videos from the YouTube website directly. (MX-V2, 6000S, and 7000-V2 displays only).
